Mapsar was founded in 2008 by Dr Roger Duck with the aim of helping organisations to work more effectively in an age of increasing complexity. Key themes of Mapsar are a focus on process, facilitating strategic planning, informing decision-making, managing projects and investigations, and creating space for organisational learning, while exploring the theory and practice of effective organisation.
Roger has worked as a consultant with over a hundred organisations, previously holding senior consulting roles at Mason Communications, Celltek and Analysys Mason. He is formerly a director of professional development at SCiO, the organisation for systems practitioners. His early career included system engineering at Smith System Engineering and research into sustainable energy physics at UMIST and UKAEA.
Roger has a BA in physics from Oxford University and a PhD in computational and experimental physics from the University of Manchester.
